This is an elegant and supple Pinot Noir with moderate tannin, fresh acidity and a core of cherry, blueberry and flowers. The beautiful balance between fruit and soft structure makes it ideal for light, juicy meat dishes, where the wine's acidity lifts the richness without the tannin clashing. Follow the wine's own recommendation of veal, and let it accompany dishes with a round, tender texture rather than anything too powerful. The earthy, nutty tones in aged cheeses play nicely against the terroir character and the berry notes of the finish.

About the wine

The pinot noir vines were planted in the early 60s and cover 0.62 hp.

The plot is east facing. The soil is limestone and clay. Hand harvested.

Vinification takes place with natural yeast, on whole grapes, the majority of which are destemmed, approx. 30% whole classes.

Aged in Bourgogne oak barriques, of which 15-20% are new.

A characterful Santenay with the most beautiful intense purple colour.

The aroma is rich with cherries, rose petals and violets, with a slight hint of licorice.

The taste is intense and powerful, while also caressing the palate. Beautiful supple structure and with a long seductive finish with tones of blueberry.

Enjoy in large Bourgogne glasses.
