The grapes are harvested and selected by hand and after careful sorting and selection on the farm, the grapes are fermented separately in small containers to optimize the extraction of the components in the skin.

Fermentation takes 25 to 28 days, after which the wine is transferred to small Slavonian oak casks of 10 hl, where it remains for at least 24 months. The wine is bottled with mild filtration and then refined for at least 12 months in the bottle before release.

Damo is named after "grandfather Damo" who in the 1960s gave birth to the vineyard that has become Montemercurio today.

His passion is still alive and after his death in 2006 the family decided to begin the production of this unique wine, the result of one of the oldest vineyards in the appellation of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

Damo is a modern interpretation of Nobile di Montepulciano, a wine with a long tradition.

Damo is a wine that is extremely precise in every detail, nothing is left to chance. The grapes have received special attention in order to be able to offer the consumer a unique experience that speaks of the beauty of the vineyards and the scent of the terroir.

Damo can be stored for many years and its quality will remain intact over the years. An absolute top wine from Montepulciano.

Damo is a modern Vino Nobile with a medium to full body, modern tannins and a lively acidity from Sangiovese, while the 14.5% alcohol and two years in barrel give the wine power and depth. The velvety yet structured texture handles rich, flavorful proteins, where the tannins are softened by the fat, while the Tuscan acidity cuts through dishes with tomato and herbs. Choose robust preparations such as braising and roasting, so the wine's weight and spiced fruit meet an equal counterpart on the plate. Serve it at 17-18 degrees, so the tannins come across as round rather than tight.
