Tenuta Liliana Cabernet Sauvignon Salento IGP 2022

This impressive cabernet sauvignon is crafted from the finest grapes from five selected parcels on the estate and proudly bears the house's name. The wine expresses the essence of Salento, where the international grape's character meets the area's warmth and light, resulting in a wine with both strength and finesse.

In the glass, the wine shines with a deep, dark red color, and the aroma opens with intense notes of sun-ripened blackcurrants, blackberries, and cherries, beautifully combined with hints of cedarwood, cocoa, and spices from maturation in French oak barrels from Allier, Tronçais, and Fontainebleau.

On the palate, the wine unfolds with a dense and structured body, where the ripe tannins are balanced by a lively acidity, giving the wine a remarkable freshness despite its powerful expression. The taste is long and persistent with notes of dark fruit, roasted coffee beans, and a hint of licorice in the finish.

The harvest takes place at the end of September, and the vinification is completed with careful barrel aging, which begins in January of the following year. The vintage shows a beautiful balance between fullness, acidity, and complexity, with a slightly higher acidity and a more structured profile than the 2021 vintage.

This cabernet sauvignon is an excellent choice for elegant meat dishes such as entrecôte, game, or braised dishes with rich sauces. It can be enjoyed now but will develop even greater depth with a few years of aging.
