Dreadnought Syrah 2021 is crafted from hand-harvested grapes from vineyards on the eastern slopes and valleys of Waiheke Island, where the soil and climate enhance the optimal expression of the Syrah grape.

The 2021 vintage offered ideal growing conditions with a balanced harvest and perfect weather during ripening.

The wine has a complex aroma with notes of red, black, and blue berries, floral nuances, and subtle hints of graphite, spices, and iodine.

The taste is full-bodied and focused with balanced acidity, ripe tannins, and a persistent finish, inspired by the classic wines from the northern Rhône.

Vinification includes natural fermentation with whole clusters in open vats, up to 30 days of skin contact, and aging for two years in French oak barrels (28% new). Natural malolactic fermentation and minimal use of sulfur ensure a pure and complex wine with long aging potential.
