About the wine
Elegant and refined Trebbiano from Mastrojanni - now in its second vintage!
Following the impressive debut in 2024, Mastrojanni continues with the 2025 vintage, working on the house's first white wine. An exciting Trebbiano, where freshness, elegance, and a fine aromatic complexity are at the center.
The color is light and clear, and the aroma offers fresh notes of citrus, white flowers, pear, and fine herbal nuances. The taste is crisp and lively with fresh acidity, pure fruit, and an elegant texture.
The 2025 vintage is shaping up to be a particularly harmonious wine with a beautiful balance between aromatic complexity and structure. A refined white wine, perfect both as an aperitif and with light fish dishes and seafood.
The grapes come from a small vineyard of just 0.91 ha at an altitude of 280 meters with southeast exposure. The soil consists of clay, sandstone, sand, and ancient lake deposits.
The 2025 growing season began with budding at the end of March. Ample rainfall throughout spring and early summer ensured good water reserves, which helped the vines through the unusually warm June. In August, heat and intense sunlight accelerated ripening, before September rains slowed the pace and ensured a more balanced development. The yield was slightly lower than usual, but the grapes achieved a beautiful aromatic and structural balance.
The grapes were hand-harvested on September 29 and gently handled before whole-cluster pressing in vertical presses. After a nightly cold settling, the must was fermented in both wooden barrels and amphorae without malolactic fermentation. The wine is then aged for five months on the fine lees with weekly bâtonnage, contributing to the wine's texture and depth.
A truly exciting white wine from Mastrojanni, where Trebbiano shows its elegant and nuanced side.
