This Sangiovese has medium body, moderate tannin with a slight sweetness and a lovely acidity that makes it a classic companion to Italian-inspired food with tomato and herbs. The tannins are soft and not at all aggressive, so they play nicely together with rich, protein-packed dishes, where the fat rounds off the structure, while at the same time the acidity cuts through and keeps the palate fresh. Feel free to choose grilled or braised meat and mature, firm cheeses, so the wine's fine power and many nuances get a partner in the same weight class. With three liters in the bottle, it is made for the long table and the big gathering.

About the wine

Here, Klaus Reimitz shows that he masters the sangiovese grape even in warm vintages. Here, Klaus Reimitz shows that he masters the sangiovese grape even in warm vintages.

2017 was hot in the area where Reimitz has his small field, but he has coped fantastically well.

When you have helped make 28 vintages in a row of Montevertine's Le Pergole Torte, you know what it takes.

The wine here has elegance and balance, and it expresses the well-known red fruits and berries on the nose.

Good power, very rich and many nuances. The tannins have a slight sweetness and are not aggressive at all.

The field's name is Boronzky, named after Klaus Reimitz's great-grandmother Tamaro von Bronzky. The canes were planted in 1992.

After harvest and fermentation, the wine has matured for 27 months in 2 casks. 15 hl oak barrels.
